About Dogs in Harmony
Dogs in Harmony is owned by Denise Holmes, a Registered Nurse who absolutely adores
dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes!
Denise and her husband Bob have been very fortunate to share their lives
and home with some extraordinary dogs!!
The
philosophy at
Dogs in Harmony is to be mindful of our role as caretakers of Mother
Earth and to treat all of her inhabitants with love and respect. We
believe that our companion animals have a great deal
to teach us if we simply take the time to pay attention!
Dogs in Harmony
is committed to the humane care and support of all animals. The
company donates funds and products to non-profit rescues and
shelters that share our philosophy and promote programs that benefit
our furry friends.
Max and Ginger, the beautiful Golden Retrievers seen in
the photo below were, and always will be, the heart and soul of the
company. They were the inspiration for Dogs in Harmony and
for whom it all began. Ginger had severe allergies and to help ease
her symptoms Denise started to make her homemade food and fresh
baked treats. It worked so well that the idea for this company was
born.
Denise & Bob’s beloved Max passed away in August 2008 at
the age of 16 years. Max had an incredibly sweet and gentle
personality and he brought great joy to all who knew and loved him.
Their beautiful Ginger passed away in June 2009 at the age of 14
years. Ginger approached every day with her tail wagging and a
smile on her face and simply went about her life being happy.
They were an extraordinary duo who clearly loved being together.
They will be forever loved, remembered and missed by their human mom
and dad.
Denise believes that proper diet, nutrition and the use
of organic foods played a tremendous role in Max and Ginger’s
longevity and overall well being as well as their ability to live
with some significant health issues during the last years of their
lives.

In Loving Memory of Max & Ginger

Denise & Bob adopted Sebastian, a German Shorthaired
Pointer/Lab mix who was surrendered to the RI SPCA in October 2008
at the age of 11 years, and Sunday a spaniel/retriever mix who was
surrendered to the RI SPCA at the age of 12 in July 2009. Both
Sebastian and Sunday are clearly in touch with their “inner
puppy”.
Sebastian “hums” when he is happy, while Sunday has much to say and
is not shy about vocalizing! They have the energy of young pups and
both are incredibly active and agile for seniors! They are
affectionate, funny and quite the comedic duo!
